What you get

  1. Your tool

The Hammer, the Chisel, the Striker or the Compass. Two lines decide it: your pace, fast or deliberate, and your reach, deep or wide.

  2. How you operate

Three readings: under pressure, with people, and finishing. Each one is a strength with its cost.

  3. Your edge

The one capacity to train next. It's the lowest of standards, service and regulation, so you work where it moves you most.

  4. Your next move

HANDLE, right on your result: name where you are, say what you want, and commit to the first step today.

  5. Seven days

A 7-day experiment built for your tool. Add your email and each day asks one thing: did you do it?

Questions

What is the Grain?
The Grain is Culturr's free four-minute read of how you work. Twenty short questions from a published personality scale show which tool you work like, what it costs you, and the one edge to train next.
How long does it take?
About four minutes. It's free, and there's no account.
What is it built on?
The twenty questions are the Mini-IPIP, a public-domain short form of the Big Five personality model (Donnellan et al., Psychological Assessment, 2006). The tools, the readings and the edges are Culturr's interpretation of your scores.
Is it a personality test?
It uses a published personality scale, but it doesn't put you in a box. Your grain is a starting point, not a label.
How is the Grain different from S-Type?
Your grain is temperament, the wood you were cut from. S-Type sits above all of it. It's the standard any grain can climb toward.
How is the Grain different from Altitude?
Your grain is how you're wired. Your altitude is where you are today.
